Appalachian Mountains
In August of this year I will be 60 years old. When I was a teenager and dreaming of being a songwriter, my father wrote a poem and handed it to me. It was called "Appalachian Mountains". A story about being a young man in the hills of Virginia and watching the companies that strip coal change his mountain home forever. This last year I dedicated myself to a project to give to my Dad on his 82nd birthday. With the help of some amazing musicians, a very talented videographer and a desire to create something endearing for Pop, the music video "Appalachian Mountains" was lovingly put together piece by piece. Filmed on location in Wise County Virginia and surrounding area including Flat Gap Virginia where my Dad was born, Pound, Norton, and Indian Creek, the video is a heartfelt visual/audio tribute to my Pop and the mountains he has carried in his heart his entire life.
An enormous thank you to Jesse Brock, Matt Leadbetter and Mark Lewis for being a part in putting together the music for this heartfelt gift. Another big thank you to friends and business cohorts Jacob Dean and Kayla Ingle. None of this would have happened without all of you and your dedication to the project. I hope you all enjoy it.
Happy 82nd Birthday Pop....
