The Bays Mountain Cut-Ups

NOW STREAMING

The Bays Mountain Cut-Ups breathe new life into "1916," one of Lemmy Kilmister's most poignant and unexpected compositions. Originally recorded by Motörhead, the song stands as a solemn tribute to the young soldiers who perished during the Battle of the Somme. Stripped to acoustic instruments and Appalachian harmonies, this bluegrass interpretation preserves the weight of Lemmy's lyrics while offering listeners a different perspective on one of his most revered songs.

ABOUT

The Bays Mountain Cut-Ups continue to build momentum as one of East Tennessee's most exciting emerging bluegrass groups. The band features Ben Watlington, Colton Powers, Max Etling, and Josh Gooding. Watlington, Powers, and Etling first developed their musical chemistry while studying in the Bluegrass, Old-Time, and Roots Music Studies program at East Tennessee State University. Following graduation, the trio refined their performance skills through countless appearances at the Ole Smoky Moonshine Distilleries in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, before welcoming Josh Gooding to complete the lineup.
